Leadership Development Programs

We believe that camp isn't just for kids! Recognizing a need for discipleship and leadership training for older teenagers, we added our first leadership development program in 1977.

Today, we have two programs, LDP at Brookwoods and Deer Run and WILD (Wilderness Intensive Leadership Program) at Moose River Outpost.

LDP

The LDP (Leadership Development Program) is an eight-week, two summer program. This co-ed program is comprised of teenagers, ages 16-17, typically rising high school juniors and seniors. This program provides campers with the opportunity to challenge themselves physically, intellectually, and most importantly, spiritually, through adventure. Program curriculum includes extended backpacking and canoeing trips, wilderness solo, lifeguard and first aid certification, Bible studies, group discussions, and reflection. The 24 person program (12 boys and 12 girls) are selected through a competitive application process.

Please note: Campers may apply to more than one leadership program. There is one online application for LDP and WILD (MRO), and they can rank order their program preference.  For additional program descriptions and a matrix to help you decide if one of these programs is for you, click HERE.
