Summer Camp Food & Nutrition

Our camp kitchen and dining hall are always busy! It’s one of the few places that we’re all in the same place at the same time, which creates quite a buzz. Campers look forward to “Sing Us A Song” as much as Taco Tuesday!

Camp promotes a healthy, active lifestyle, which includes well-balanced meals. We provide a variety of food options, keeping in mind kid favorites, as well as taking into consideration individual health needs and allergies. Several years ago, we made the decision to be a nut-free kitchen.

Breakfasts have a hot entree as well as cold and hot cereal, fruit, and yogurt. At lunch and dinner, there is a full salad bar with a variety of toppings, including at least one protein. Apples are available to campers after lunch. Most of our meals in the dining hall are served family style and meals outside are typically buffet style. We are equipped to meet the needs of those with common food allergies. We may not be equipped to handle some severe allergies based on the age of the camper. Please email Jon Cooper, our Food Service Director, with specific questions.

The camp store has been a part of camp culture for decades. Though the items have changed over the years, it continues to be a highlight. Campers visit Store after lunch or dinner, three set times a week. They can pick two different treats: slushie, soda, or candy. (There is no charge for camp store.) Evening program will sometimes include a snack.
