Moose River Outpost Facilities

Our facilities are top notch with comfortable MODERN accommodations and thoughtfully created social spaces all designed in the classic MAINE log style.

Many of the camper cabins have been built in the last 10 years, are spacious, feature full bathroom facilities and showers. If you give them a good look, you’ll appreciate their classic log design. (If you have memories of sweating it out at summer camp, there’s no need to fear because temperatures at MRO typically stay in the 70s and 80s.)

The entire property is regularly inspected and accredited by the American Camp Association.

Waterfront

Heald Pond is at the heart of Moose River Outpost and is a private 186 acre body of water. We have two waterfront areas, one for swimming and one for boating. Just to make sure that fish hooks and boating equipment don’t get in the way of anyone’s bare feet.

Moose Hall

This is the signature gathering space at Moose River Outpost, Moose Hall is both beautiful and functional. A log building featuring seating for 200, it can still feel cozy thanks to its rustic styling and large wood burning stove. As a worship space, it echoes beautifully and features basic audio-visual equipment. As a recreational space, it has ping-pong and board games.

Coffee Shop

In addition to being a great hangout, the Coffee Shop features a stage and an integrate audio-visual setup. It’s great for groups of 40 or less. We can schedule a time with your group to have our staff make shakes for your group! Foosball and ping-pong are both available in the Coffee Shop. Close by, on the porch of the Dining Hall is a MRO favorite, Carpet Ball.
