A Letter From The Campaign Chairs

Dear Friends,

It’s impossible to overstate the blessings in my life which flow from 9 years as a Brookwoods camper and two years as a Counselor. These years nurtured my faith and connected me to my wife Lindsay and my best friends. To contemplate how Brookwoods, Deer Run, and Moose River Outpost have for decades played a similar role in the lives of thousands of other campers and guests is truly to glimpse the scale of God’s provision.

With four children of our own who will one day go to summer camp, Lindsay and I are committed to securing the future of these extraordinary places. We’re chairing The Next 75: Building for the Future campaign and hope you’ll partner with us in this work.

The value of the Christian camping experience is both immediate and long-term. In season, it provides a young soul the chance to break away from the day-to-day and see the gospel illuminated by Christ-centered community and God’s creation. In the years which follow, memories of spiritually mature counselors whose example pointed to Jesus can change the direction of a camper’s life forever.

These are the legacies we pray can be both sustained and extended. To that end, we ask you to join us in supporting The Next 75. Your participation is an investment in facility and program improvements critical to the camp experience and essential to growing our impact and outreach through Brookwoods Conference Center.

The enhancements described in the enclosed materials will permit Brookwoods, Deer Run, and Moose River Outpost to realize long-held dreams for the depth and availability of this precious summer experience as well as benefit our vibrant conference ministry. As an LDP alum, I’m pleased to report that the new Ranger Unit has already been completed thanks to funds raised since we began the campaign on a smaller scale, pre-COVID.

Please know how grateful the Board of Directors and we are that you would consider investing in The Next 75. It’s my and Lindsay’s particular hope that this campaign will bless the greater camp community by strengthening relationships among current camper families, and re-establish bonds with alumni from the past seventy-five years. You’ll find our contact information below; we welcome the chance to respond to your questions and comments.
