Breezy and Beautiful

How can it be second week already? The days have flown by here at camp and now Color Wars are a thing of the past, with the Blue team taking home top honors and getting to paint the Moose Antlers.

In today’s festivities, activity areas were again in full swing after a break on Sunday. It was a perfect day for sailing, with a crisp breeze and a warm sun. Also popular today was rock climbing, with several campers completing their basic awards after having both learned their knots and climbed both faces of the wall. Of course water skiing and wake boarding remain popular, and many campers have gotten up on skis or a board for the first time.

Tonight in camp we are enjoying Cabin Night, where each cabin group bonds over their activity of their choice. Magalloway is out at paintball, dodging behind trees and playing capture the flag. Penobscot is at the waterfront, balancing on the Key Log and enjoying s’mores and a campfire. The Pamola girls are taking turns tubing behind the boat, and Kennebec is playing ping-pong, and sharing some ice cream.

Baxter and Saco left this morning for their 3-day trips, and so they’re having adventures of their own. We’ll see them Wednesday, and we look forward to the stories they’ll bring when they return.

WILD is all in camp today, a rare occurrence this time of the summer. The WILD 1s just returned from a successful whitewater training run, and the WILD 2s are fresh off the Maine coast, having completed their coastal kayaking trip. Spirits are high for both groups, and they enjoyed a dinner at the dinning hall tonight, a welcome break from their normal routine of cooking over a fire.

As always, check back Wednesday for more updates or visit our facebook page!
