Giving to Camp in 2021
Your gifts share the love of Jesus with campers and their families. Thank you for partnering with us to create gospel-centered communities where lives are transformed for Christ!
2020 was a challenging year for everyone. Here at Camp Brookwoods, Deer Run, and Moose River Outpost, we are thankful that we could continue to fulfill our mission of creating communities where campers could experience the transforming love of Christ. Instead of ministering to our usual 1000+ campers, we hosted family groups in cabins at Brookwoods and Deer Run and for camping up at Moose River Outpost in Maine. We also experienced a significant disruption in our Conference Ministry, hosting only a fraction of our usual 7000 conference guests. We are thankful for our generous camp family who helped us overcome the 2020 year end revenue shortfall. However, there are still additional expenses that we will incur moving forward because of the ongoing pandemic. If you are able and would like to help, you can give directly here or investigate other ways to give here.
Giving is an act of worship. As we share what God has entrusted to us, we are bearing witness to the truth that everything we have belongs to God. He is trustworthy and will meet all our needs.
If you donated in 2020, remember the CARES Act provided special incentives for charitable giving. For instance, if you itemize deductions on your tax return, you may be able to deduct cash gifts to offset up to 100% of your adjusted gross income (AGI). Ordinarily the income tax deduction for charitable cash gifts is limited to 60% of AGI. Even if you do not itemize your deductions in 2020, you can still reduce your taxable income by up to $300 for contributions of cash to public charities using an “above the line” adjustment to reduce your taxable income.
