Welcome Robert Dawson
Dear Camp Family,
I am thrilled to share with you that Robert Dawson has been hired as the next Director of Ministry Services at Christian Camps and Conferences, Inc.
Robert’s first experience at Brookwoods was serving as the Counselor of the Wildcat Cabin during the summer of 2008. Since then, Robert has spent three summers as a Unit Director as well as serving on the Fall Conference Staff. Robert has also been a regular member of our Alumni Camp staff for many years.
Robert grew up in North Carolina and developed a love for the outdoors through the Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill with a degree in Religious Studies and Economics, and has spent the last six years helping to start and grow a jewelry business. Serving Christ is important to Robert and he has served in his local church in a variety of lay leadership roles, including children’s ministry, youth ministry, men’s ministry, and missions.
In his role as Director of Ministry Services, Robert will be assisting across many facets of the camp organization such as marketing, human resources, staff hiring, and leadership of the Support Staff each summer at Brookwoods and Deer Run. Robert will also be involved in future program and facility improvements. I suspect he will occasionally be asked to drive the ski boat at Alumni Camp as well!
Robert, his wife Kayla, his daughter Ella, and his mother-in-law Cathy, are planning to relocate to New Hampshire in mid-January. Please join me in welcoming the Dawsons back “home” to Camp. You can email Robert here.
We are thankful that Robert has responded to the call to serve at camp and we would ask for your prayers as he begins this new role.
