Seal of Approval
Bob Strodel, Executive Director
During the summer of 2009 Brookwoods, Deer Run and Moose River Outpost were visited by members of the American Camp Association for our accreditation assessment visit. Every three years the camps are evaluated on 300 health, safety and program quality standards. These standards include: food services, facilities, transportation, medical staffing, operational management, human resources and program activities. We are pleased to announce that Brookwoods, Deer Run and Moose River Outpost have achieved accreditation status; a status that is achieved by only 36% of the American Camp Association member camps, and only 14% of the Christian camps in New England.
This is the first year that Moose River Outpost has gone through the accreditation process and
hosted an official ACA visit.

To existing camp parents, the accreditation logo identifies that Brookwoods, Deer Run and Moose River Outpost continue to offer a solid foundation of health, safety and program quality. It lets parents know of the camps’ accountability, credibility and commitment to a set of very high standards. To new prospective parents, it is a mark of assurance that the camps are being run and operated to a set of national standards. Why would you send your children to a camp that was not accredited? If you have any questions about the accreditation process, or the associations that we belong to, please contact me.
